Internal medicine. By reputation, it is one of the toughest rotations as far as the hours go. It is twice as long as all the others as they make you do internal medicine 1 and internal medicine 2 one right after the other. With every fourth day being a call day and post-call day following that, this marks the first day in 14 that Geoff hasn't been at the hospital before dawn. Some of his call days were until late in the evening and two were until the wee morning hours. It has been a grueling two months for all of us. But especially for Geoff, dotted with short, infrequent chances to catch his breath before continuing on. We've missed him most on Saturday's when we should all be out enjoying some type of outing together. But he has done an incredible job pushing through on very little sleep. He has stayed up to do assignments or look up information that he needs to know. I'm really proud of how hard he has worked. Well, to top everything off...Audrey got a cold this week that developed into a double-ear infection. It has meant alot of waking during the night. One night she was up every hour.
So today we say, Yay for the light at the end of the tunnel, hallelujah for sunshine after the rain, arevaderci to this rotation, BRING ON THE TEST TODAY AND THE END OF INTERNAL MEDICINE!!!!!!!!!! Wahoo, we made it!

That calls for a standing ovation! Way to go to all of you! Go out to eat and top it off with ice cream! You deserve it! It's so amazing how hard all of our husbands work. Aren't they great!

That is a lot of stress for the dear streeter family. So sorry to hear Audry got sick. That is the worst! Keep on going Geoff!! You a great mom em!!
