Captain and crew for Canyon Lake expedition.

Mayley and Porter faithfully attending to their duties.

This fish was, of course, much bigger in person. When Matthew announced "fish on," he profoundly startled every living thing within half a mile. We were surprised when he was not immediately yanked over the side. After a heroic struggle, Matthew somewhat defensively remarked that this fish had an unusually large spirit. As an aside, we note it was Mayley who operated our modern, digital netting device.

After reaching our destination all hands were called to swimming duty.

Hard to see, but Mayley is jumping from a rock into Matthew's arms, and Porter is beside them in the water. All three finally decided to swim all the way back to the boat (where I was with the camera) instead of walking on the dock. The kids learned those life jackets really work!
When all is said and done, it will be hard to exagerate how much fun we had.
