So we might be getting into a house...

Hey everyone! This is Matt & Kat! So we have been looking around at houses for a little bit but were never too serious due to prices. But then my best friends father Scotty Halls bought up a townhome development and wants us to move over with his son and daughter in law to live next to them. He does land aquisition and made ALOT of money doing that. Now he is buying up unfinished properties for low prices, finishing them, and then selling them off. He told us he would offer us a little over cost for the unit so we went and looked at them! Here are some pictures to give you and idea of what it looks like! It's around 2,200 sq ft and has a 2 car garage. It's located in Saratoga Springs which is about 5 minutes from Lehi so we would be about 20 minutes away from where we live right now. The benefit is, that it is in between utah valley and salt lake city so we could work in either location. It has an elementary school which is about 500 feet away and a church that is about 100 feet away. We are going to negotiate a price with him on sunday over dinner. His son is getting into the unit for about 100k and we think we can either get the same price of around 110k. We are pretty excited because we qualified for the low 5.25 % interest right now and the 8,000 tax rebate offer isn't a bad incentive either. So let us know your thoughts and we thought we would just share this with you!! Love, Matt & Kat Brown

PS- thanks to Kris and Kevin for lending us their camera! And thanks mom for the memory card! Sorry it took so long to start using it!

Hey. It's a nice-looking house! Call me and walk me through it. Is this the house you like best, or the one mATT LIKES best? Is there more than one bathroom?
Where's the laundry? Would you like living on the corner, or would it be busy? Is the back "yard" fenced? It's fun to look, isn't it!

I'd love to chat about this. It's very nice looking. One thing to think about is that if you buy right now you may own it for at least 10 to 20 years as the market is in a decline right now instead of improving in price. So make sure you like everything about it. The good thing about this market is that there are lots and lots of good deals right now and so you can be very picky. Does this mean you have decided not to move to AZ? Is there a yard?

Looks nice, almost AZesk with what looks like stucco (sp?). What, if any, are the common walls shared with the other Townhome? And is the interest rate a fixed one or does it have a set number of years? If it's fixed that's good but if not once the allotted time is done it WILL skyrocket and maybe put you guys in a hurt. How exciting that you guys are looking. Good luck it's a tough decision.

The interest rate is fixed. The market is way to scary to every even consider getting an ARM loan right now. It has one common wall that is a double wall with a foot inbetween it. So we shouldn't hear our neighbors.
