Grace

Leave it to me to blog about why I like to keep up a blog and then proceed to not blog for half a year!! :)

February 13, 2011 we welcomed the newest little Streeter into the world. She was 7 lbs 12 oz and 20.3 inches long. She, like my other little diva Audrey came by C-section into the world, a little too genteel to come the other way. Hee-hee. There are several things that led up to her coming into the world that were miraculous and we are very grateful that she is here and we are all healthy.

Grace is such a joy to have around. She has a calm, sweet nature. In the hospital, Geoff and I kept asking the doctors if everything was all right because she seemed to be sleeping alot. Did she have jaundice? Were there any other concerns? No, they would say, she seems perfectly normal. She learned to smile quickly and now at three months has loads of personality already. She coos and goos and laughs and sighs. She is working on the roll-over, with success sometimes and not-so-much other times. She absolutely adores her older sister Audrey and lights up whenever she is visible. She will look right at her and say what sounds like a couple sentences...in a foreign tongue. It is so cute. Audrey adores her back, almost to the point of smothering at times. Grace continues to sleep well, for the most part. Sure, there have been some frustrating nights, but there have also been nights like last night...asleep at 8:30, awake to eat at 5:45 and still sleeping as I type at 8:23. Whose child is this again?

Grace is sometimes happier if put down rather than being held. She loves to kick and constantly chews on her fists and fingers. One of my favorite things is when I put her in a little bouncer chair for a nap I give her a blanket and she grasps it and pulls it close to her face. The binky goes in, she gets a little grin on her face and closes her eyes for a nap. Partially because she is so content not being held, I absolutely love when I do hold her. I cuddle her close and am completely amazed by how much love I can have for two little girls.
