Ready for round two please. You can't beat March in Arizona. What a trip. Thanks Mom and Dad for having us for a whole month. As you can tell from the pictures Kevin did a hard elective family practice rotation with a great doctor out in Scottsdale that involved half days for 2 weeks and getting to drive a porche, and Thomas and I went along for the ride. It was so great to see family and friends. I could easily make this an annual trip during the next 5 years that we will be staying out here in Michigan to do Kevin's Radiology residency. We fit so many activities in a day I don't know as if I'll remember everything but I'll just recap what these pictures are about.
Hey cowgirl! It's in her blood. Thanks for the fun horse rides Matt. Even Grandpa Lunt rode.In high gear with our speedy little put-put boat. What a fun day. We had an awesome picnic lunch and everyone got plenty of time in the speedboat. We saw mountain goats, an eagle, and a huge fish that was taunting Matt because he knew he couldn't whip out his fishing pole and snatch the slimmy little thing up.
With Easter coming quick Grandma J didn't disappoint with the fun activities to do for the season. The kids played with these hopping chicks and bunnies forever. Thanks Emily for having us all over for Pizza while the men-folk went to Priesthood.
Our special little lunch spot at the zoo. We shared it with monkey's, ducks, turtles, and a peacock.
This is a shot of everyone doing a somersault at the same time.
Grandpa J had some perfect toys for a 3 year old boy. This helicopter was fun to toodle around with. He also had a nerf gun with huge bullets and alot of kick, and some speedy remote control cars that Thomas couldn't get enough of. Thanks Dad!
While in Michigan it was snowing, we were enjoying the swimming pool. There was only one week where it got a little uncomfortable for a 8 month pregnant chick weather wise. We spent the majority of the time running around outside and going to parks.
One of the many picnics with the family. This was a sweet park that we spent like 4 hours at one day. Good times.
Nice shot of Grandpa Lunt huh! Priceless. He was a good supervisor for all the hard intensive labor that Matt demanded that we do in order to be able to see his wife and kids. He even made Thomas put in his hours on the tractor plow. Too bad Matt doesn't know that Thomas loved every second of it. Kevin was able to get in a couple motorcycle rides with his Dad, one to Ajo and one down near the base of the Catalina mountains near Tucson. They took up most of the day starting early taking a break to eat some yummy Mexican food that Phil had staked out earlier and ending just before evening. The view was awesome. AZ is a really pretty place.
We brought along our Kinect game and it was a hit with the kiddos. There was some hard core competition going on. I'll get you next time Mayley!!!! Dad took Kevin on a really pretty mountain bike trail one day. I can't tell you how many hours the Johnson clan has spent on a mountain bike. One of the many memories I have as a kid. The picture with Kevin and Phil was at yet another Mexican food place that we ate at. Kevin tallied that he ate Mexican 14 or 15 times during a 30 day period and that still wasn't enough. (Xavier's We Love YOU!) The first monday that we were there we were lucky enough to go to the aquarium out at Mills mall with Marla, Lindsay Sarager and all their kids. What a cool place. T-man was a little hesitant at first but by the end was loving it. It was great to be able to see Marla and Grant from Silver City a couple other times and see their kids. Some of which I had never met yet. Great timing on the work trip Welker family. Thanks for the Red Robin treat. We also got to spend some much loved time with Todd and Lindsay (Kevin's younger sister) watching UofA get far in the NCAA tournament and eating Mexican food of course. T-man found a true friend in his cousin Benjamin and promptly began to shoot, and hunt for monsters, wrestle, ride bikes, and do all sorts of boyish things. Thomas had so much fun with his AZ cousins that my job keeping him entertained over the summer maybe a little tough. Good thing he still has some stellar cousins here in MI for the next year. Don't even ask how I'll make it through after that. Thanks family for showing us a good time. We already miss you all dearly and can't wait to see you again sometime.
