Kevin and I have been itching to have a fire pit in our backyard so that after we put Thomas down we could go kindle up a fire and sit holding hands and roasting smores.(sp?) I love the sound of crickets in the background and firewood crackling. And the weather.........it couldn't be better, it was just slightly chilly in the clear air. So we got some bricks from our front yard and put a beautiful ring up around a cement slab and Kevin made a tepee fire that would make a cub scout proud. We got started making the yummy chocolaty, puffy, sandwiches and made a good team with Kevin on the stick end and I building the outside part. We whipped a couple out and sat back and enjoyed. I was thinking how fun this is and why we hadn't done it sooner. We were about to launch into round number two when the fire exploded and sent smoldering fire flies all over a foot radius. (Luckily not landing on us or the plastic from our goodies) The "bricks" that we gathered from the front yard must not be all that solid because if you look close in the back right corner of the fire you can see where it blew the top off. Ha, ha, ha so that cut the date short and now were just going to have to go snuggle on the couch and watch some tube! Guess we are either going to have to not be so cheap and buy a real fire pit or just go over to our dear in-laws and use there's! :)

What a creative date. I'm proud of you for keeping up the romance! I'll bet you can find a firepit online or Craig's list. Flint, MI ought to be a big fire city! (Ha Ha)
