New York

Emily was in charge of date night last week, so we went off to New York City to attend the temple. It was a beautiful day, but extremely cold. We stopped for a hot chocolate at Starbucks right after we got out of the car because we were already freezing!

The next hour or two we enjoyed people watching in Central Park. It is amazing how many people have dogs, and it was bizarre to see every swing filled at the playgrounds. If you have never been there, pictures don't give an idea for just how huge the park is!!

At the tail end of our walk we stopped for 10 minutes at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (it took us a lot longer to walk there than we expected).

We hailed a taxi (fun to do, but that ticker makes me nervous - 40 cents per 1/5 mile doesn't seem like a bargain to me) back to the car so we could change for the temple. It was really impresive, inside and out, and it is in a neat part of town with the fine arts schools and theaters. What a blessing to have temples so close no matter where we are. (My parents had to travel all the way to Logan, Utah to be sealed from Normal, IL.)
