Picnic and Peach-Picking

This day may turn out to be one of my favorite memories here in Connecticut (aside from when family was here to visit of course). Geoff had a rare Friday off so we headed off to Lyman's Orchards to pick peaches for a homemade pie. We first enjoyed a picnic on a grassy hill just below a golf course. Don't let Geoff fool you... he did NOT get hit on the head with a golf ball. He'll have to come up with some other excuse. But he did fall asleep next to Audrey for a good hour or so. We picked a whole bag full of peaches. Why, then, you may say is there a cherry pie? We must not be the wisest peach-pickers yet, because the peaches dissolved into half-juice after a couple days in the fridge. The cherries I bought. It was yummmmy. Oh the good things of summer!

Watermelon, peaches, cherries...all your missing in a perfect summer day is corn but I guess your comment about Geoff getting hit in the head was corny enough. hee hee J/K. I can't say enough how cute Audrey is and her mom. It was great to finally meet the little princess.

The funny thing is that we bought corn that day at Lyman's store. Hee-hee. :)
